Reason for objection:

The committee were concerned about the sub-division of an existing period property into 4x residential units and the resultant impact on the CA.
Notwithstanding the minimal changes to the front of the property it was felt that this change is likely to result in additional 'clutter' associated with bins, cars, cycles that is an inevitable result of subdivision.

The committee also felt that the roofing materials for the rear GF extension were not of appropriate quality for a building of this type. The design of the extension is an over-simplified 'box' with a cream coloured render and bi-fold doors. The materials and style of the GF extension should be more in keeping with the period of the property or be to the highest architectural quality to complement the existing building with a more contemporary structure.
The loss of the first floor 'balcony', whilst not in itself of particular concern was noted due to the apparent retention of an opening door from the first floor out on the new roof - clarification is sought as to the intended use of the roof.
