Reason for objection:

SCAAC notes that the proposed development is almost identical to the previous submission and that it does not therefore address the comment in the refusal The proposal is not considered to represent a coherent design. The proposed materials palette is at odds with the prevailing materiality in Southborough Conservation Area. The overall scale, massing and roof height and mix of roof forms would fail to positively respond to neighbouring properties, or the wider Southborough Conservation Area. We repeat our earlier comment that the large picture windows, grey bricks and slates are not in keeping with the prevailing style in Southborough (Georgian style windows, red bricks and red tiles) and the boundary treatments are not specified and so we have concerns that the properties will overlook the grade 2 listed buildings to the rear.
