Reason:
North Dorincourt is a locally listed building within a group of four. Demolition of its tired 1950s extension, which has not shared the same architectural quality of its adjacent landmark brick tower, is welcomed. Its replacement with a new 3-storey extension will allow more of the tower to be seen and while its timber-cladding will add an innovation to the character of the immediate area, on balance it is considered an improvement. The view from Richmond Park should not be affected.
However there are reservations about the use of timber cladding and further information is required.
