Reason for objection:

Fairlight, a notable building locally listed on Kingston Hill, has received well-thought-out and articulated proposals that are expected to improve both the building and the Conservation Area. The proposed new extension at the rear is sufficiently distanced to not affect the views from Richmond Park situated directly behind, warranting positive support.
However 1) the front elevation new window should be lowered to match the cill height of the other windows;
2) the rear infill and the introduction of arched fenestration/door elements mismatch the remainder which are rectangular. Though they may not be visible generally we do consider this detracts from the unity and harmony of the rear elevation and the building's sensitive proposed alteration which is the overriding consideration.
