Reason for objection:

Objection. The applicant has failed here to address the concerns we raised on the previous PA (23/00188), subsequently withdrawn by them. The main issue remains the proposed height, scale & mass of the new dwelling. In our view it needs to be limited throughout to no more than 2 storeys & a building height of ca 6.5-7.0 metres, not the ca 9.5 metres proposed, in order to protect the setting of neighbouring properties & views of the surrounding area. In addition, proposals to timber-clad most of the main elevations would be out of keeping with the character & appearance of the CA (note the facade of the new property nearing construction completion at #114 Lower Ham Road contains a significant amount of brick work as well as timber cladding in order to blend in better with the typology of the CA).
