Reason for objection:

Objection. The applicant describes this scheme as a ‘winter swap over’ from its summer time ‘Havaiannas’ brand. That brand did not have planning consent for its signage & did nothing to address the matter when determined by officers & the CAAC. This new proposed signage also falls short of planning standards because: a) the fascia signage should not be internally lit. If illumination is absolutely necessary (we believe it is not) in such a well-lit location, then it should be discreet low emission LED spot or trough lighting; & b) the bladed or hanging sign should not be illuminated. Furthermore, we do not support the use of cheap materials such as red vinyl on this sign.

It is important that the applicant respects the character & appearance of this listed building & their current proposals do not.
