This is a building of special architectural interest (the plaque on the frontage refers) &, we believe, the oldest surviving property in the AMP. Any signage on the shop front should therefore be high quality & respectful of this. Unfortunately the application in its present form, with its cheap materials, stuck-on lettering & garish colour palette, falls well short. Rather it should be made much more neutral in appearance & comprise natural finishes such as timber.
