Reason for objection:
Strong objection. This is a key site that marks the gateway to Kingston town from the rail station & Richmond road. It demands, therefore, a development of significant importance & quality, which this proposal is anything but. We find the application to be heavy & bombastic in style, lacking in any originality, of inappropriate mass & scale (nine storeys) & insensitive colour palette & finishes. We believe it would have a substantially harmful impact on the numerous surrounding listed & locally listed buildings & areas of special character (eg Castle Street to the rear of the building in question) & should therefore be refused.
