Reason for objection:

Although this cottage is architecturally humble in itself, it sits in a gap between terraces of well-preserved elegant Victorian houses. In its current state the cottage is relatively unobtrusive. However, the orientation of the proposed side dormer does not conform to others that face towards the street. Rather, the proposed dormer would face the immediately adjacent building. This would make no sense visually, and will have a negative impact on the integrity of the terraces either side. The proposal is therefore not deemed to help preserve or enhance this conservation area.
