Description of proposed works:

Installation of 4 xno. small cell antennas and 1x no. GPS antenna fixed to the fascia of the building, to be painted RAL6000 to match the existing facade, the installation of a 42U Rack, a Power Wallboard and an AC Outdoor unit located internally within the building, and ancillary development thereto.

Reason:

No objection. This application from Telefonica appears to be reasoned & sensitive in the circumstances. The need is to improve mobile signal coverage in CA1 & requires discreet antennae to be fitted to a suitable host building. Several potential sites have been considered in the application but the Ultimate Outdoors premises at the busy intersection of Thames St & Market Place is deemed optimal. This building, like many others in CA1, is grade 2 listed. However, as mentioned, the proposed alterations/ additions to it have minimal visual impact on the building in particular & the surrounding streetscape in general & are regarded by KTN CAAC as acceptable.
