Reason for objection:

Whilst we do not disagree with the principle of the extension we are very concerned that materials proposed are not of a high quality and therefore would harm the CA. We appreciate that the extension will only be seen from neighbouring properties, but these views still form part of the CA. We are particularly concerned about the timber cladding which would not be in keeping with materials found within the CA. We would recommend a more 'permanent' material such as brick be used and selected to tie in with the materials found elsewhere in the CA.
We are also very concerned about the use of attached metal stairs - these tend to look very utilitarian and also result in areas of unusable space beneath which can become very untidy. We would prefer to see a slightly larger extension which would accommodate stairs within the building.
We are also concerned that there will be no useable amenity space - the sedum roof appears to be inaccessible and the proposals would be greatly improved if external areas were designed to accommodate outdoor amenity space.
