Reason for objection:

We object in principal to the addition of the external spiral staircase proposed. This is wholly uncharacteristic of properties within Southborough. It is considered that an alternative architectural response would be able to successfully achieve reasonable means of escape within the fabric of the building - as is the case in all other applications we have ever reviewed for roof extensions both vertically and outwards.
Heating should be integral to the existing house and the extending flue is not an acceptable addition to the roof.
Limited information is provided on materials (no application form was available to view), windows and any roof lights need to be of timber frame and conservation grade.
