Reason for objection:

Objection. Current property is a bit of an anomaly - part of front wing of original late Georgian/ early Victorian dwelling next door (#16) plus a poor quality 1969s/70s(?) infill brick built extension. Need for refurbishment is understood, but there are material issues with this significant project (representing a ca doubling of the existing living accommodation): i) new front porch is incongruous in scale/ design; ii) new 2 storey front extension has rendered finish whereas rest of facade is brick; iii) new fenestration at front is 4-pane in design which jars with the original 2-pane windows of its neighbour (#16); iv) rear extension is very large in scale & encroaches significantly on the garden space (building line same as neighbours but they have larger gardens). All these concerns should be rectified by the applicant in order not to harm the character & appearance of the CA.
