Reason:
No objection. We welcome the greening-up of this long-neglected space. We participated in the public engagement exercise on it some time ago & are pleased to see a formal PA finally published.
Although supportive, we wish to draw the LPA’s attention to two potential issues viz:
Design of swift tower. It is important that better consideration is given to the character & appearance of this proposed feature which, in the present renders, resembles a mobile phone mast. An improved, less intrusive design is necessary in order to respect the sensitivity of this location & key views of it;
The Ram beer garden. We have separately objected to PA 24/00264 for a substantial makeover of this site, which is directly adjacent to EBW. Any decision on it must be taken in the context of the EBW PA 24/00640.
