APPRAISAL

By full committee on …… 10 January 2018 …… with …… 12 …… members present

1. Positive support
2. No objection
3. Objection
4. Objection unless revised as below
5. No comment/neutral
6. Lack of detail
X
7. Decision already issued

Reason:

This second application (proposing a third storey to the original application from 2014), lacks detail in relation to the degree to which it further blocks light from the adjoining alleyway, Kings Passage.

Kings Passage is one of several alleyways which link the riverside with the market square. Their historical significance is considerable in that they originated as commercial thoroughfares connecting the river and the market. It is acknowledged that this one in particular has a variety of modern buildings already constructed along it and light is limited. However, the alley way retains historical significance and the third storey proposed on this development reduces the light yet further.
